Medication Administration

Parents are encouraged to talk to their doctor about arranging medication schedules outside of school hours, if possible.

However, medication may be given at school using the following guidelines:

1. Prescription medication only. Medication must be in a labeled bottle with the child's name, medication name, time, and dosage to be given. Your pharmacist will be happy to provide you with a duplicate bottle if needed.

2. Prescription medication must be provided by the parent in appropriate amounts.

3. Non-prescription medication may only be given if prescribed by your physician.

4. A permission form must be signed by the parent or legal guardian at the school clinic before the administration of medication can begin at school.

Medication must be delivered by an adult to the school in a prescription bottle. Students may not transport medication to or from school.
